Along the way, we played a chain‑story game, with everyone eagerly taking part in the performances, all the while singing and laughing! The journey, which took just over an hour, felt like it flew by!

Upon arriving at the foot of Zhaohu Mountain, the family members gathered to take a headcount and organize into groups—seven teams, all fully prepared and ready to set off!

President Jiang Xuelian is our leader, and with a grand procession, we’re setting off toward the mountaintop!

Zhaohushan National Forest Park is located to the northeast of Haiyang City’s urban area. At the 8-kilometer mark, the area stretches 6.1 kilometers from east to west and 5.2 kilometers from north to south, covering a total of 1,762 hectares. The main peak, Zhaohu Mountain, rises to an elevation of 549.7 meters; its slopes are steep, with precipitous summits and deep, rugged valleys. Today, our goal is to reach the highest summit—Yunbiao Peak!

There’s still a short distance to go to the foot of the mountain, and we’re riding the electric mini-train at Zhaohushan. .Haha, and besides… didn’t childhood memories suddenly flood back?

Once you leap over the Dragon Gate, the mountain path begins to grow steep. ...

Above the Dragon Gate, there are four pavilions; with each step up to a new one, the scenery unfolds more and more before your eyes. At a glance, it truly is… Surrounded by towering mountains, with rolling peaks and dense forests, the scenery is breathtaking. The winding valleys stretch far and wide, and from the highest vantage point, you can take in all the verdant beauty at a glance!

After a long and arduous climb, having poured out copious sweat and energy, we finally reached the summit as we had hoped. --Cloud-View Peak!

At 12:30, everyone gathered as scheduled at Songlinju for a meal, savoring delicious home-style dishes.

As for the origin of the name “Zhaohushan,” later generations generally cite a passage from the “Supplement to the Records of Haiyang County”: “Thirty-five li north of the town stands a mountain called Zhaohu. It is said that a tiger once lay hidden within, tamed by the immortals, and was thus transformed into stone; its traces remain intact, hence the name.” However, precisely because The character “tiger” is embedded in the mountain’s name, leading many to form a preconceived impression and overlook another defining feature of Zhaohu Mountain: the dragon. In fact, Zhaohu Mountain boasts not only tigers but also dragons: the Nine-Dragon Lake, winding through the mountainside, exudes an air of vast, misty waters, and along its banks stands a temple dedicated to the Dragon King. According to the “Geographical Awakening Record” According to the “Dragon‑Tiger Song,” the Azure Dragon is an auspicious deity and should rise in a winding, serpentine form, while the White Tiger is a malevolent deity and ought to lie low and docile. By this measure, the feng shui of Zhaohu Mountain may well be deemed of the highest caliber.

Coming down from Chengdao Chan Temple, I’ve returned to the starting point!

At exactly 3:00 p.m., we wrapped up our day’s itinerary and departed on time from Haiyang, heading home. By 4:30 p.m., we were already back!
