From May 20 to June 10, 2014, the long‑awaited “A Touch of Richness” — Yantai Zhonglian Industrial’s inaugural badminton open tournament — was held as scheduled and concluded in complete success.
This competition has a total of Eighteen players took part, including 12 men and 7 women. The events featured men’s singles, women’s singles, and mixed doubles. At 12:20 p.m., everyone arrived on time to draw lots and warm up. Although we don’t have professional referees and aren’t seasoned competitors ourselves, we still take this tournament very seriously. Each player strove to seize the initiative on the court, adopting a fearless, all‑out attitude when facing strong opponents—determined not to let their composure slip. Everyone was brimming with confidence and had prepared thoroughly in advance, while spectators watched eagerly, itching to join in.
Throughout the tournament, everyone was in high spirits—after all, these weren’t professional players, so there were plenty of mistakes. Still, some competitors managed to stay positive, adjust their mindset, and keep pushing forward, growing bolder with every point. Especially during the men’s singles final, the players brought their skills and potential to full fruition, drawing repeated cheers and encouragement from the spectators. Although some athletes still lacked a solid foundation and faced a significant gap in skill compared to others, they persevered until the very end, never giving up. Their determination showed us the true spirit of perseverance and reminded us that, as long as you stick with it till the finish, you’ll earn applause—even if you don’t walk away as the winner. In such an atmosphere, even though we were competing in a fiercely contested match, everyone approached it with a spirit of “joyful participation” and “finding happiness in the process.” What emerged was not just skill and performance, but above all, a strong sense of unity—a truly positive and uplifting spirit!
This event not only strengthened camaraderie among colleagues but also fostered an enthusiastic, positive atmosphere. Following fierce competition, the men’s, women’s, and mixed doubles categories each crowned a champion, a runner-up, and a third-place winner. In the men’s singles, the results were: Champion—Wang Jun; Runner-up—Yang Junwei; Third Place—Liu Haiming. In the women’s singles, the winners were: Champion—Qu Yan; Runner-up—Liu Weiyu; Third Place—Zhong Mei. In the mixed doubles, the champions were Yang Lei and Liu Weiyu, with Yang Junwei taking second place. Qu Yan, Third Place: Wang Jun Zhong Mei. Even the contestants who didn’t place received commemorative awards to encourage them, and everyone returned home in high spirits.
Through this event, everyone felt they had gained immensely, seizing a rare opportunity for in-depth exchange and communication. Our team spirit and sense of collective pride were greatly strengthened and elevated, while we also experienced the warmth of communal life and the vibrant richness of our company’s corporate culture. Although the competition has come to a close, it has taught us that only by working together within this big family can our bonds grow ever deeper and our joy and happiness endure—because we are a family that walks hand in hand, advancing and retreating together. !
